Year of the Horse Envelope

This project is a hand screen-printed red envelope design created at a screen printing studio for the Year of the Horse. The concept combines a circus theme with a starry night setting, resulting in a whimsical and playful visual language. The design conveys wishes for good fortune and prosperity in the new year. The project was fully handcrafted, highlighting materiality and enhancing its warm and celebratory tone.

The process began with black-and-white illustration drafts. Due to the use of gold and silver inks, the design was separated into two plates, then printed onto transparent film and exposed onto screens to create the stencils for screen printing.
